Today we are going to look at SSL security for your website. Google is requiring SSL for your website if you want to retain your listing so lets have a look at what this means.

What id SSL?

An SSL component is a certificate which secures any information entered on that website. It means if you are filling out a form or buying products it is secure. Not that long ago only businesses selling products installed an SSL certificate which then adds the “https” to the beginning of the address and in most browsers a lock. If you look up the top of our seite it should say secure and you can see the https.

Previously this could be quite complicated as you would first have to have a dedicated IP address and then buy a certificate and install then renew each year. We have taken all this and made it much simpler and include it on every clients site so no need to worry.

Why do you need a SSL secure website.

Don’t have an SSL Certificate? Google is going to flag your website this year!

We turn to the internet for everything. From selling to buying, it is the introduction of an E-world. With this dominating trend, online security has become a necessity.

Undoubtedly, Google loves its users and therefore, is coming up with every possible way to make us feel secure here on the internet. With its recent announcement, earlier this year, Google will flag all the unencrypted internet by the end of 2017.

Google will flag 2/3rd of the web as unsafe.

This means if your website doesn’t have an SSL certificate, it will display a ‘Not Secure’ in the URL bar.

How much does it cost?

With our hosting products it is supplied free however many other hosting companies will take you through the process above in creating a seperate IP and then installing an SSL and charging a yearly fee.

Contact us to test your security and we can take over managing your site and move to our secure servers with your own free SSL hosting.
